Camping les criques de porteils, Collioure, France.
Tree over the med. Nice. These glasses make everything look warmer and rosier. Real rose tinted glasses. Have you ever worn actual rose tinted glasses. To be honest they make everything look a bit naff. What I think anyway. Makes the saying quite ironic. But we are living with tinted glasses – most of the time – relatively. Metaphorical ones.
But we are the lucky barsturds right? We take them off to watch the news for half an hour and then return them to obscure the picture, lapping up the scenery of our ‘easy’ lives. I speak of us working class aristocrats and those above us – (financially). It’s an amazing thing to have a bit of intentional ignorance to relax within. Bliss is necessary for when you return to the battle, – where tinted glasses are a distraction. You can’t fight if you’re numbed and subdued and dazzled by the theme park and all its over done colours. Am I being too cryptic? Basically. Have a rest then get back on the horse. Ha!
On the other hand maybe – like the real rose glasses that make it all look bland– if you’re not seeing the picture as it truly is – as in – not in its full terrible and amazing richness, with all the real colours– then the experience is the same. A bit bland.
There’s a quote – another from Khalil Gibran about weeping but not all your tears, or laughing but not with all of your joy. I’ll dig it out.
